Seminyak is located at the very top of the Kuta district and is the most sophisticated and refined area of these parts. From the south of Seminyak you will see that the structure of the roads and the set up of the Seminyak hotels is similar to the north Legian although here the standard is higher and the bars and nightclubs are more sophisticated than the cheesy clubs of Kuta. Prices are a little higher but it is still cheap to have a luxury holiday in this area. The beach is the same beach as Kuta and Legian but here there are more trees lining the coast and less coastal development and far less crowds. The atmosphere on the beach is relaxed and quiet as well as being extremely tranquil. Many of the Seminyak hotels offer beachside resorts that are similar to the Legian places but are of a far superior class.
As you go further north in Seminyak the mood changes from vibrant to relaxed and it is the very north of Seminyak that you can find Padi fields and the first few traditional villages. Oberoi is located in Seminyak and is a smaller strip of restaurants and bars that are a mix of well priced and extravagant dining. As you go further down this strip you will get to the windy roads that lead through the trees where there are some exclusive boutique Seminyak hotels that are extremely nice. Here there are also a number of villas but you will find that there are as many traditional places as there are modern hotels and there is a developing Seminyak trendy style that is being pushed by the Europeans who enjoy staying in this area. These places run right to the coastline where there are the most refined and sophisticated sunset bars, restaurants and cafes as well as seriously chilled out hotels. Heading further north from this area and there are some more boutique villas style hotels that can be traditional or modern, these places are perfect for those who want to be close to the Seminyak nightlife and facilities as well as the incredible shopping but stay away from all of this in a blissfully quiet luxury hotel and private villas.
In the top end Seminyak Hotels you can expect top end facilities that include all of the home amenities so you feel like you are living in a dream tropical home rather than a hotel. You will have a large plasma television with a full entertainment system and often a full kitchen. For the mid range places you can find a very nice place for cheaper with just less high tech facilities and perhaps not that same kind of view as in the other place. Seminyak caters for many types of people from the shopper, the partiers, families and the couples. There are also similar places just outside the Seminyak area in Kerobokan. The advantage of this area is you are by the beach and close to all of the tourist facilities.
