Singaraja is located in the very north of Bali and is one of the few alternative tourist locations away from the south. There is a small scene here that is fun and relaxing and some incredible sights to see. The water here is warm and calm all year round and there are some amazing reefs and aquatic areas of interest including the dolphin watching. Lovina is located within the Singaraja area and also other a lot in the way of tourist accommodation. Here you will feel like you are on another island to the rest of Bali as the huge mountains tower high and close to the coast creating a secluded and beautiful feel as if you are on your own little island.
The Singaraja hotels differ in he same way as many of the other areas in Bali. You can get traditional accommodation which is the most common and of a good standard or modern style accommodation which is also around. You can sty in the hills overlooking the bay, on the beach or anywhere in between as well as in the intimate hidden away Singaraja Hotels that are small boutique places located away from Singaraja and offer luxury and tranquility. Other options include the small private diving resorts that exist in the area and offer excellent accommodation and dive trips around the underwater jewels of the area.
If you are staying in the hills in the woods then there are many places that are similar to the Ubud style of accommodation. These Singaraja Hotels are usual thatched bungalows with private gardens and a pool, which over look the incredible views of the bay from the shade of the tropical forest. The Beach Hotels are similar to that of Sanur but on a smaller scale and as there are less of them the atmosphere is totally different. You can walk out onto the beach from the pool area or stay at the bar watching the beach throughout the day. These places often have water sports facilities and offer boating, dolphin watching and snorkeling to name just a few examples.
The budget places here are often nice with a genuine traditional feel to them creating a feel that is difficult place. You can expect to find air conditioning in most place but the budget Singaraja hotels are mostly fan cooled and do not have hot water. Hot water and air conditioning is however standard as is a television with international channels and a mini bar when you book into one of the mid range Singaraja accommodation. Singaraja is perfect for anyone who is diving or looking for a peaceful break with luxury or a good standard of accommodation. You will escape the crowds here and see some amazing natural sites. Although the journey from the airport is a little far you will pass through the most beautiful areas of Bali to reach this exclusive area where you will find a very different demographic to the Kuta area.
