Maya Ubud Resort & Spa is a large boutique resort located in the alternative location of Ubud high in the mountains where the cultural and physical beauty of Bali is extremely apparent. This traditional resort is located over 10 hectares of hillside which looks down to the river that runs beneath the hills with tropical countryside and woodland surrounding the area. Maya Ubud Resort & Spa is located just outside the centre of the forest town of Ubud but is central in terms of the many areas of interest in and around Ubud and benefits from a more tranquil and relaxing environment in which to enjoy the luxury services and facilities that Maya Ubud Resort & Spa presents. Ubud is famous as the location of the Balinese painters as well as the royalty and a place where the Balinese culture runs particularly potently. At 600 meters above sea level the temperatures are usually slightly cooler and more refreshing then in the south of Bali and you can enjoy wonderful sunrises and sunsets with misty mornings and incredible scenery.
The rooms follow the traditional ideas and form of the Balinese villa design but display also a certain degree of contemporary ideas that create a slightly different and fresh Ubud resort that would be ideal for those who have already visited a few Ubud resorts or for those who like a bit of funk mixed up with there villas. The options include the superior & deluxe rooms, the superior garden villas, the deluxe pool villas, the duplex pool villas and the exclusive presidential villa. All of these rooms have excellent facilities although naturally the luxuries increase as the list goes on. Tea and coffee, mini bars, sofas, and all of the household amenities that you would expect to see are present as well as many other items.
The restaurant at Maya Ubud Resort & Spa is an excellent pavilion resort which is located high up on the hillside with awesome views of the surrounding wonderful scenery. Traditional food as well as continental cuisine is served by the Balinese staff , who are incredibly elegant and friendly. Everything from breakfast buffets to prearranged romantic meals is available here. The large swimming pool is also over looked by the restaurant providing lap swimming in the morning, leisure I the afternoon and is lit up as a spectacular visual center of attention once the light has faded. There is an excellent range of activities available such as snorkeling, diving, trekking, white water rafting and all other tours and trips you can take including climbing the volcano for sunrise and diving on the offshore islands. Maya Ubud Resort & Spa offers great relaxation for after an activity or just because you feel like it, massage, body wraps, reflexology and beauty treatments are all on the menu. With Balinese and world recognized techniques the massage can be traditional or you can even select for instance a Swedish massage.
