This quiet and comfortable retreat is a perfect location from which to experience the wonders of Ubud and all of the surrounding areas of nature and cultural beauty. Uma Ubud is located an hour's drive from the airport and at 600 meters above sea level you can enjoy the cooler temperatures and the rolling hills of rice padi terraces and the mountains that are covered in tropical jungles and forests. Uma Ubud is a particularly holistic place to stay and is extremely aware of its presence and what this means to the environment Uma is also the location where some of the palaces and temples for which Ubud is famous for are located.
The rooms are in sync with the rest of the resort offering modern luxuries and traditional styles with a modern sleek approach. The rooms differ in the decor with some that sway more toward the traditional ideas and some that are more modern. The room options include the terrace and garden rooms, the Uma suites, the Uma Pool Suites and the Shambhala Suite. All of the rooms and suites feature and large luxury king size bed with a luxurious long flowing mosquito net as well as large French windows that open onto a balcony where incredible views of the gardens and the surrounding rice paddies. All rooms also have a luxury sunken bath in the well presented en suite bathrooms and large showers with hot and cold water. Air conditioning and mini bars as well as a all of the basic hotel facilities are also standard in all rooms and the furnishing are excellent throughout the resort. The more exclusive rooms and villas feature extra luxuries such as private infinity edge swimming pools, larger living spaces and exquisite decor.
Uma Ubud provides yoga rooms and dance studio, the incredible Kemiri restaurant sells wholesome and healthy food from the Asian and western menus, all food is perfectly cooked by the Australian chief, well presented and delivered with graceful service by the staff in traditional clothing. The COMO Shambhala retreat presents a variety of Asian and western spa treatments from reflexology to meditation and treatment pools such as the jade green pool and also a full gym. You can also arrange tours of the various areas of interest that are close by, this is an excellent way to see the sights and learn a little bit more about Balinese tradition. Popular activities include cycling, trekking and jogging on the gorgeous shady paths that lead round the Ubud area and lead to some breathtaking view points that are perfect for taking memorable photos.
